MY ENGLISH CLASSES

EXAMPLE 2

NOW LET’S WRITE SOME NOTES ONLY TO HELP US ORGANISE OUR THOUGHTS.

NOW LET’S WRITE SOME ROUGH NOTES TO START TO GET THE SENTENCES ON PAPER

NOW SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES TO SPEAK ABOUT IT. IT SHOULD BE ABOUT 4 MINUTES.

DID YOU COVER ALL THE GRAMMAR?

WHEN YOU ARE HAPPY WITH YOUR PLAN, PRACTISE IT AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL YOU DON’T NEED THE NOTES, BUT DON’T MEMORISE IT! EVERY TIME YOU SPEAK IT IS GOING TO BE A LITTLE DIFFERENT, BUT IF YOU ARE ORGANISED YOU CAN USE YOUR IDEAS AND THE GRAMMAR.

HERE IS MY CORRECTED VERSION

Trinity 4 Topic

Starting to study English

—Do you think learning English is important in Fuerteventura?

I think it is very important for everybody in the island, to speak clearly and understand well, especially people that work with tourism.

About 10 years ago my mum said she wanted me to go to English classes so I enrolled with Fuerte English language school that year. I cried on my first day, then we sang and played and I felt happier. I loved my first teacher, but I loved my other teachers more and last year we got a new teacher called Gillian and she teaches very well. The work is more difficult this year than last year but I enjoy it. I like to study hard.

The difference between my classes in my day school and the language school

—Do you think the classes in my day school are the same as my language school classes or different?

The English classes in school are more serious than in the language school. In the language school we practise verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs in a fun way. The classes with Gillian are more relaxing than in school. I like speaking but I don’t like to do a lot of homework. I dislike standing up in front of the class. There are more students in the classes in my day school than in my language school. In the language school the groups are smaller and it is easier to talk more.

How I learn English with my friends and family

—Do you think it is important to practise outside class?

I learn English outside my classes too! My mum and I always sing well in English together, we sing everyday. I practise with my friends twice a week. We study hard to improve our grammar. My cousins can speak English fast but I usually understand them well. I never speak English with my dad.

My hopes for the future

-Do you think English is going to be more or less important in the future?

I think English is going to be more important in the future. We are all going to need to speak English better in the future. I hope I am going to pass my English exams easily and I plan to use English everyday in the University and in life.

Note

There are 4 questions but it is only necessary to ask 1.

IT IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW YOUR ENGLISH. SOMETIMES THE EXAMINER ASKS A LOT OF QUESTIONS, SOMETIMES HE/SHE DOESN’T ASK QUESTIONS AT ALL. YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW YOUR ENGLISH, USE IT!

YOU CAN PREPARE 4 PHOTOS ON ONE PAPER WHICH CAN HELP YOU REMEMBER YOUR TOPIC, IF YOU FORGET IT. SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO HAVE SOME PHOTOS TO FOCUS ON.

HERE IS AN EXAMPLE. FOR TRINITY 4 YOU CAN HAVE 4 PICTURES. EACH PICTURE SHOULD HELP YOU THINK ABOUT 1 PART OF YOUR TOPIC.

LISTEN TO YOUR FRIEND’S TOPIC. DID THEY COVER ALL THE GRAMMAR? LOOK AT THE CARDS AND THINK IF ALL THESE AREAS ARE INCLUDED IN THEIR TOPIC.

VOCABULARY FOR YOUR TOPIC

IF YOU ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT SWIMMING YOU NEED COMPLETELY DIFFERENT VOCABULARY FROM YOUR FRIEND WHO IS GOING TO TALK ABOUT BASKETBALL.

SO LET’S THINK ABOUT THE VOCABULARY YOU ARE GOING TO NEED.

AN EXAMPLE

SWIMMING VOCABULARY

…. TALK ABOUT THIS IN CLASS

What words do you need?

-the body

-clothes you use for swimming and clothes you change into

-words about the places you swim, for example the beach or the swimming pool

-equipment you need

etc

BASKETBALL VOCABULARY

….TALK ABOUT THIS IN CLASS

OTHER VOCABULARY…

……TALK ABOUT THIS IN CLASS
